Yellowstone National Park Backcountry Skiing

explore YNP in the winter

A skier wearing a helmet and goggles skiing through deep snow in a snowy landscape, surrounded by snow-covered trees.

Winter brings a very different experience in Yellowstone National Park than the summer months. With consistently good snow, zero crowds, and few roads, winter in Yellowstone is a remote and rewarding experience for those who venture into the mountains. Join us for ski touring in Yellowstone, with options about 30-45 minutes south of Big Sky, MT. Whether you’re looking for mellow meadows close to the road, specific instruction and mentorship, or a full day of touring to remote ridge lines, you can find what you’re after in Yellowstone.

If you’re interested in steep skiing and ski mountaineering options, check out the North Bridgers Ski Mountaineering Camp or a day of custom backcountry skiing in the Bridger Range or Hyalite Canyon.

For trips out of Cooke City, please contact us for options.
