Shannon Regan

Shannon grew up skiing and riding with family in the big trees of the west slope Sierra Nevada and has spent the last ten years working in experiential outdoor education, ski patrolling in both California and Montana & ski guiding. She is an American Avalanche Association Professional member, an AIARE instructor and a member of Gallatin County Sheriff SAR team. Shannon has been developing avalanche awareness curriculum and improving course processes with Friends of GNFAC’s talented instructor team since 2021 as the program coordinator and an instructor since 2017. Shannon currently teaches for the American Avalanche Institute, Montana State University’s avalanche course program & mentors youth with the Montana Mountaineering Association’s Junior Mountaineering Team. You can find her working on her side-hilling snowmobiling, enjoying cooking food for friends or on a river trip when the snow turns to water.
