Adam Knoff
Guide & Instructor
Adam Knoff grew up in Minnesota and gained an early appreciation for the outdoors spending many summers in the great Boundary Waters Canoe Area with his twin brother Eric. He discovered climbing on the small cliffs near his childhood home at the age of fifteen and has been addicted ever since.
In 2001, he began guiding on Mt. Rainier and has been guiding climbing of all kinds ever since. Adam is a veteran guide at RMI, racking up over 150 summits of Mt. Rainier, 10 Denali expeditions, and twenty international expeditions, including an attempt on K2 in 2010. He was integral in starting the Khumbu Climbing School sponsored in 2004 by the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation in Phortse, Nepal.
Throughout Adam’s guiding career, he has deeply respected and cherished the opportunity to work and play in the mountains but takes an equal amount of enjoyment in helping climbers reach their goals and have life changing experiences.
Adam still hangs his hat in Bozeman, guiding fly fishing during the summer months and ice climbing and mountaineering in the winter months. Outside of guiding, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 13-year-old son.
